JRC wrap up

JRC Participants,

The dust has cleared on another amazing Johnny Ray Century.  On behalf of the East Alabama Cycling Club and the Davis Phinney Foundation, thank you all so very much for your participation and enthusiasm!  This year's JRC saw over 200 cyclists covering the back roads of East Alabama, following the now fabled Johnny Ray rail line between Opelika and Roanoke, Al.  You saw historic sites, beautify scenery and Chambers County's award winning pave.  Nearly half of you went home with Centurion medals commemorating your completion of 105 miles and participation in the Alabama Backroads Century Series.  We heard from many of you that this was your first century, for which we are honored and proud.  We also heard from a staggering number who have done every single ABC ride!

Combining your participation and donations with the generosity of our corporate donors, East Alabama Cycling Club is honored to send the Davis Phinney Foundation $7,719.52 to support their programs providing tools, information and inspiration to those living with Parkinson's Disease.  For more information on the Davis Phinney Foundation and how your support makes a real difference please see the attached letter.

Finally, throughout the JRC you were supported by eacc members, volunteers, some fabulous local organizations (the Auburn Bike Committee, Auburn University FlyersCAMP-SORBA & Roanoke Rotary Club) as well as many sponsors.  Please visit the JRC Sponsors page for a complete list of these wonderful folks.  As you bump into them at other events or patron their generous businesses please remember to thank them for making the JRC what it is.

So thank you once again and we hope to see you at next year's Johnny Ray Century (Sept 26, 2015)
